Drove down to New Haven with Dr Derek Toomre. Arrived at the Yale School of Medicine. Talked to Derek at length about the need for cross-sector clustering in Imaging to unite Medical Imaging and Microscopy with Film/TV/Software/Mapping/Web. He agreed wholeheartedly. The Cineclectic forum (upcoming) will define our uniqueness. A way for people to interact initially online - leading later to face-to-face meetings, exchanges and conferences. Photographed Derek in various locations around the campus.

Right: Jack Vees stands in the empty Sprague Hall at Yale—where Jimi Hendrix played and Jim Morrison from 'The Doors' was arrested.
Later, met with Jack Vees of Yale Center for Studies in Music Technology. Again, the idea of an Image, Sound and Web cross-discipline cluster was the topic of conversation. Jack is a composer and gives concerts as a soloist on the bass guitar. He's like an encyclopedia of the 'progress' from analog to digital.
Cineclectic spent summer 2007 at Yale with these guys, so it was great to meet up again and talk about the future.
Looks like 2009 will be an interesting year!
