Jan 2nd - Went to Museum Of Modern Art, New York. It was free to get in, being a Friday evening, so the queues were round the block. It’d be much easier to pay! The museum is stunning, the building itself is as impressive as the artworks it houses. I took some photos of me looking at people looking at art.

This week I was preoccupied by moving from Williamsburg in Brooklyn to the East Village in Manhattan. My new flatmate is Holly Lane, a music industry force to be reckoned with! Her clients (by company) have included: Arista Records, Artist Direct, Bad Boy Worldwide, Blackground Records, Blue Note Records, BMG Entertainment, BMG Sweden, Bonnier Amigo, Chronicles, Columbia Records, Concord Records, Davoucci, Decca, Disney, Dreamworks Records SKG, EMI, Escapi Music, Export Music Sweden, Gain Records, Geffen Records, GSC, Hip-O Records, Inside Out Music, Interscope, IFC - Independent Film Company, J Records, Jazz Planet, JellyBean Recordings, KOCH International, Loud Records, Marvel, Microsoft, MNW Records, MTV, N-Coded Records, PCCW, Playground Music Scandinavia, Priority Records, Razor and Tie Records, RED Distribution, Rendezvous Entertainment, Roadrunner Records, Rockhouse Method, Sanctuary Records, Serino Coyne, Startracks, SONY, SPV, Spitfire Records, SRC, Submedia, Surge Recordings, The Music Cartel, Thirsty Ear, Thomas Dolby, TIME LIFE, TVT, Unique Recordings, Universal Music Classics, Universal Records, Universal Sweden, United Stage, UTV, VH1, Victory, Volvo, Warlock Records, Warner Bros., Wu Wear, Xtreme Rides.
Jan 6th. Met with Ali McMordie, bassist with legendary Northern Irish punk rock band ‘Stiff Little Fingers’. Ali also now runs a music industry consultancy firm in New York specializing in tour management. accountancy and production with clients including Rufus Wainwright and Moby - who he also joined onstage to play bass. The first single I ever owned was a copy of the NI punk anthem ‘Alternative Ulster’ by ‘Stiff Little Fingers’ with ‘78 Revolutions A Minute’ on the B-side!
